The current work at hand: sending CDs out for review. Right now it's a life of CD mailers, postage and diligent research to see what publications might be keen to review I'll Just Lie About It.
What I find interesting is that most music defies easy categorization. For example, while this music is pretty much straight ahead classic jazz in the 1930s style, it could also be singer-songwriter, general interest and oddly, folk music. Sorta depends on the idiosyncrasies of each publication. And there are many jazz reviews that my music doesn't belong in: magazines that specialize in improvisational jazz, smooth jazz, Free Bop, contemporary jazz, or jazz from the Italian community, and while it has guitar and saxophone, no part of the album would qualify as jazz guitar or jazz sax as a genre. Such is my learning curve, but it is very interesting.
Hop over to my CDs page and listen to the "samples" by clicking the arrows next to the songs; how would you categorize my music?
