HARMONY COMING YOUR WAY!
I'M A BIT BEHIND MY NEWSLETTER SCHEDULE, but very excited to tell you about a few fun things to look forward to. I want to also report that Lark Camp was well-attended and AMAZING! It was balm to see faces I've missed for the last three years of no in-person camp, and for the first few days, I just floated around drinking in the ambient music of workshops and singing. Lark lives!
Right after Lark Camp, Kent and I traveled to Scotland with my siblings and their spouses. A few days into the trip, five of us tested positive for COVID which put a crimp into some of our plans. We figured out how to make changes to avoid exposing the rest of the world and managed to enjoy some things in spite of the plague (because, Scotland!), but be sure to take care of yourselves out there!
HARMONY COMING YOUR WAY!
As promised, Libby McLaren and I will be teaching our "how to sing harmony" workshops on November 4, 11, & 18 from 10:00 to noon at the Hillside Club in North Berkeley. We are delighted to be hosted again by HOOT!, the music-community brainchild of Joe Christiano. Reserve your spot at HOOT! Camp. The cost is $50 for single workshops, but you can reserve space for all three for $125. Visit my “Gigs” page for the details about each workshop; we're using beginning-intermediate-advanced nomenclature, but you can contact us to find out what will be most useful to YOU. You might be underestimating your abilities and miss out on something fabulous, so shoot me an email for help deciding!
CELIA RAMSAY & FRIENDS CONCERT – SAVE THE DATE
Save Sunday, March 3, 2024 at 2:00pm for a redux of the variety show I hosted three years ago—right before the pandemic hit. Celia Ramsay & Friends will perform at the Hillside Club in North Berkeley as part of their new Hillside Echoes concert series. Tickets will be $25 (there's a discount if you're a Hillside Club member) and you'll get to hear some really fine Celtic flavored music (with some fun original music sprinkled in) from Eamonn Flynn, Leah Wollenberg, and new additions Amelia Hogan and Felim Egan.
There's so much to like about this show. First, the Hillside Club is a beautiful jewel box of a space, an original neighborhood club built by Bernard Maybeck. But most of all, this is a fine cast of musicians and you can expect some gleaming solos and wonderful collaborations that will bring you to your feet. I hope you'll join us!
